Since the 1980s, the teaching material examination every four years by Japan has been changing with funny alterations. The textbook issue has become a mirror for judging the cognition of history by the Japanese government and has a huge impact on Sino-Japanese relations.

At present, according to media reports, some Japanese textbooks quote Hitler's autobiography Mein Kampf for the school to choose. In this regard, the Japanese Democratic Progressive Party members questioned the government. On April 14, 2017, the Japanese government determined the statement of defense replying to members of the opposition party in the cabinet meeting, indicating its attitude, saying that educational institutions can judge whether to quote the “beneficial and appropriate” part of Hitler's autobiography Mein Kampf on the basis of the education law. 
　　
As is known to all, fascism and militarism are the ideological roots of World War II, which have long been cast aside by the people of the world. Now the notorious fascist "valuable book" of Mein Kampf was approved by the Japanese government in an ambiguous statement of defense, saying that part of it could be selected for use in the textbook. We should recognize the facts behind the Japanese government's reply, and disclose the ulterior motives of the Japanese government to the world, which should arouse high vigilance of the international community.

The Mein Kampf is "The Book of Evil" and "Book of the Devil." Historian Norman Cousins once pointed out that every word in Mein Kampf has cost the life of 125 people; every page has cost the life of 4700 people; and each chapter has killed 1.2 million people. After World War II, the book was banned from publishing in many countries such as Germany, Russia, and Argentina. In many countries; in many countries, the Mein Kampf was criticized as a specimen of anatomical fascism, and critical texts were added to help readers identify. The book was banned in Germany for seventy years, then was re-marketed in 2016, but it was added with 3,500 notes while reprinting, refuting Hitler's sophistry and vicious attacks one by one. The German judicial department emphasizes that any act of inciting hatred through the Mein Kampf is illegal. In the face of such a book of sin, the Japanese government took an ambiguous attitude, and it said that “such example exists.” This behavior is beyond the imagination of the general civilized society.

The Statement of defense by Japanese government is not an isolated incident. Looking back at several recent events, it can be found that Hitler's autobiography was selected into Japanese textbooks is closely related to many incidents. The thinking path of Abe government resurrecting the militarism could be clearly identifiable.

Firstly, the "bayonet contest" reproduces the Japanese physical education curriculum. At the end of March, the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) announced that, the important course "gun kendo" of Japanese military training in the Japanese militaristic period, commonly known as the "bayonet contest", was newly added into the new version of the "Study and Guidance Essentials" for the Japanese middle schools, In fact, since the Abe administration took office, it has been trying to resurrect militarism from historical education. From the "Kaga" to the "bayonet contest", from the military field to the education field, and from the destruction of the peace constitution to the expansion of overseas military ambitions, all the actions of the Abe government are pointing to the purpose of resurrecting Japanese militarism.

Secondly, the Imperial Rescript on Education advocating the loyalty to the Emperor of Japan with “Loyal Thoughts” reappeared in the Japanese kindergarten. The Imperial Rescript on Education is the basic educational policy of Japanese schools after the Meiji government. It was one of the two "artifacts" of Japanese militarism education before the war, and the other was Imperial Rescript on Military. The core spirit of the two is to brainwash all the people, especially the soldiers, and instill the “Loyal Thoughts”. After the defeat of Japan, the Japanese parliament passed a resolution to completely remove the Imperial Rescript on Education from the school classroom. The Senyou Academy in Osaka Prefecture was strongly praised by Mr. and Ms. Abe because of its attempt to resurrect militaristic education in kindergartens and elementary schools; the Abe cabinet said it would not rule out the use of the pre-war Imperial Rescript on Education in school textbooks. In the congressional hearing, Tomomi Inada, the far-right Japanese Defense Minister, publicly appraised the Imperial Rescript on Education.
　　
Thirdly, the rate of use of textbooks in Japan, which dilute the history of aggression and strengthen territorial sovereignty disputes, has risen sharply. The MEXT announced the results of the examination for textbooks of 2018 on March 24 this year. According to the new review standards revised in January 2014 requiring the respected for government opinions, a total of 11 suggestions have been given, concerning major sensitive historical and practical issues such as the Nanjing Massacre and Diaoyu Island. Although the use of Japan's "new history textbooks" which denies the Nanjing Massacre is still not in the majority, the textbooks that understate the Massacre and Japanese aggression against China are gradually increasing, and the adoption rate is increasing year by year. The Japanese younger generation is using this kind of erroneous history textbook, which will undoubtedly bury hidden dangers for the future of Japan and even Asia.
　　
History textbooks are of official, authoritative, formal, and universal characteristics. They are the basic channels for shaping the people in modern society, one of the most important components of the "memory place", as well as the "institutionalized memory" of the national state. The essence of the Japanese history textbook issue is that whether Japan can correctly treat that period of aggression and educate the next generation with a correct view of history. Right now, facing with the book of sin Mein Kampf by Hitler, the Japanese government claimed that educational institutions can judge the use of “beneficial and appropriate” content of it on the basis of the education law. This ambiguous statement of defense, plus the normalization of recent series of militaristic ideological education, both of which indicate the growing trend of right-wing development in the history textbooks and militaristic ideological education by Japanese government.

In response, Lu Kang, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on April 18 that, the whole world has public opinion on what kind of book this is. Fascism and militarism are the root causes of World War II and must be thoroughly liquidated and eradicated. On this historical issue involving absolute right and wrong, it is not tolerated any ambiguity. The Japanese government must be urged to educate the younger generation with a correct view of history.
