On the afternoon of July 15, a 124-member delegation from the "One Heart Tour of the New Era" of Macau SAR teenagers came to our memorial hall to "touch" the history of the Nanjing Massacre.

It is reported that the delegation is headed by Leung Wai-tat, Macao SAR government's secretary for economy and finance, and advised by Yao Jian, deputy director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR. The delegation included middle school and university students from Macau, as well as youth representatives in different occupations. Deputy curator of our memorial Shi Pengcheng received them.

"International Friends’ Volunteerism Is Great!"

The Macao SAR government and the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR jointly organized 500 Macao youths to study and visit in five provinces, including Guangdong, Jiangsu, Guizhou, Hunan and Hebei, under the theme of "One Heart Tour of the New Era". This is the largest and highest-level youth visit to the mainland since Macao's return. Among them, Jiangsu sub-delegation came to the province to study and visit on July 14, 2017.

Under the guidance of the docents, the delegation visited the Exhibition of Historical Facts on the Nanjing Massacre.

Tong Ziyan, a Chinese medicine major from Macau University of Science and Technology, was deeply impressed by the medical staff who selflessly helped and saved the injured during the Nanjing Massacre.

"These international friends embodied the spirit of volunteerism. It's great! Now I am working as an intern in Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine. In my spare time, I also want to be a volunteer at the memorial hall to add a piece of warmth to the history. "Said Tong.

After the visit, the delegation observed a moment of silence and laid a wreath.
